Lip Spoiler install.

Hi Guys,

Those of you who have rear lip spoiler: How you do you like it? Also, how was the install, and can be remover later?

Thanks,
-iamitman

There's a drill way and a non-drilled way. The dealerships install it by drilling holes on the ends of the lip spoiler and connecting it through the holes and using tape.

The non-drilled method just uses tape. Not as secure as drilling but from everyone who's done the non-drilled method, I have yet to read about one falling off or getting pulled off. If you feel like you might remove it later go non-drilled.

So is OEM the best option. I know eBay always has "style" options, but don't want to half ass anything. Especially on quality, fitment and color match.

I agree. I mean at the most it is 139 on ebay, which is not that expensive!

Ebay ones usually come unpainted. Primed but unpainted and painting would be an additional 50 bucks or something. Fitment is usually good with ebay spoilers but you should definitely check with other people first before purchasing.

When installing the tape, be sure it is above 60 degrees out. 3M tape doesn't work at 45 degrees. Ask me how I know.

I got my spoiler from the spoiler store on ebay. The paint match was perfect. After I reinstalled it on a warm day, it seems very solid now. The ebay kit included some hardware for the drilling method of installation, but I feel confident that the tape will be just fine. I replaced the original mounting tape with 3M brand tape, just for added piece of mind.

That being said, I do consider it to be removable.

My ebay one keeps peeling off on the corners for some reason. I think because the weather here is extremely biopolar like 30 degrees from 6-11 then 70 from 12-5 then 40

OP... I made a DIY for this if you wanna see the install(non drilled) just search for it. Or look through any threads started by me.
