2010 Vortex Blue <3

alright so here we go, i feel its time i finally put some pictures up of my baby. 2010 Vortex Blue TSX base 5AT. as much as i have tried to take care of her, she seems to have lived a miserable life. a front end collision with the front right side needing repair which was my fault(first accident of my license ='( ), i got tboned several months later with about 13K worth of damage(guy blew a yield) which demolished the entire right side(both fenders, both doors, and yea...) and i lost her for nearly a month. then everything was good, till i went away to college in sept. she was never smoked in, and barely ever was anything eaten, and even then, nothing messy. car was given to my sister, and the smoking ensued, along with a brush against a concrete pillar in my garage. you'll see from the pictures, i chose a tighter spot, but no one parked next to me. my sister seemingly can't pull out as well as i can. and most recently, during the epic snow in october, the lower engine cover was ripped up and is now not fully attached. i feel bad for her, but i will repair her again, and love her just the same.

now, the pictures, there aren't that many, i haven't just taken photo's of her, these have just been random moments. good pictures will arrive maybe after thanksgiving and definately around new years, when i will be getting the car back from my sister(she's going to paris) and i will be detailing her.

when she was bone stock

next to a friends R8, i parked like a douche so he had extra room. you can see my tints

before HID fogs

installing HID fogs, my friend standing there like an idiot

HID fogs(blueish, cam makes them green)

and at night with my boys e46

no drop cause she's a lease, but shiny cause she just got washed

cold ass at the start of octobers storm

plastidipped grill(i plan to redo it in dec and leave the (A) chrome)

damage from my sister(back right door and fender)

VERY NICE CAR! Sorry about the damage. Does seem like a rough life for a new car. But thats ok, you're getting her repaired. And Vortex blue is one hell of a color too. Very shiney when clean!

And i didn't realize so many people in big cities park their cars in parking garages.

ACURA FAMILY FTW! Nice cars!

why would u let your sister smoke in your car????

1st, its a bad habit (coming from a former smoker) and 2nd its impossible to fully get rid of the smoke smell from your interior.

stak, yea i agree, but its a car, she's an idiot. we've all done our share. and i can't really stop her from smoking, i've tried, but she's 20. i can't do much. the reason i allowed her to smoke was because she has it for the entire semester, and it's a lease. this car will be gone by next christmas probably. though currently, i think i wanna replace it with a 2013 6MT tech vortex blue. thats what im really hoping for.

the grille was my first time ever working with plastidip, and i managed to get it pretty even and pretty good. i'll be redo'ing it when im home for winter break, and leaving the emblem out this time(i wasn't sure originally, and then i didn't have time to redo it) i also plan to plasti the rear letters(not the A probably)

Pyro, ask that guy for tips. He did an amazing job on the corolla and the scratches look sort of similar to what you have except yours looks a bit deeper. Not sure how you can do it without taking off the panels like the guy did it in that thread. HTH. If you really do try tackling this, pics! hahah good luck man

thanks for the reference. i talked to him and he said that honestly, even he wouldn't attempt to repair the damage that i have. he thinks that it should be given to a professional who has many years of experience. i could try compounding, touching up, and wetsanding, but it would really look touched up and not good. that it has to be taken down to the metal and primed. so i will most likely not tackle the project

so, i gave up on attempting to fix the pain on the right door and quarter panel because i was told i would simply make it look like shit, so im going to leave it to be professionally done in dec/jan probably. but i did fix the underbody of the car. the lower engine cover assemble, and the drivers side fenderliner. here are some pictures. all i gotta say is, gorilla tape is amazing. i'll show the strength of it in one of the pictures where my buddy put it on his forearm and i ripped it off hahaha

fixed

Dude that's exactly how my driver side fender linear looks like! Except my fog light flap is still connected :p

I'm probably gonna get a new fender linear tho. Found a place selling for 40 bucks

yea i don't have the foglight cover on the driver side anymore, it was dragging as i drove and going against the tire, so i pulled over, whipped out a multitool, and cut it off. but i don't have a cai down there, so its just about 2 feet of space because my resonator is gone. i think it frees up more airflow from under the car into there

i want to, but closer to the spring maybe if i have time. thats my buddy's E46 328i. they had full size spares, and the rim is bent, so we just did it as practice. turned out amazingly. we were gonna do his, but its a bitch putting it on jackstands. we tried to jack it out with the jack that came with the BMW, and the car actually fell. the jack broke. thank god we are smarter than to be under there without a stand underneath. it literally just started to slide forward in slow mo, and as the jack went diagonal, i pulled it out so that his side skirt wouldn't break off. shit was scary.

you should invest in 2. possibly 4. and a good jack. go for the long one with a circular pad on it. don't get the hydraulic bottle jacks. they don't fit, and even when they do, they bend the back points. ask me how i know. you don't need to keep them in the car, the shitty one that comes stock is sufficient to change a tire. but know that it won't hold for over 5-10 min, and even if it would, never trust being under the car. even if you could fit under the car when it stands not jacked up, it falling off the jack will cause the suspension to bounce, and the car to be lower than normal for a second or two, and it will crush you. moral of the story. buy jack stands

so i came home on the 15th at about 10 at night, we pull into the garage, and i go straight to my car. low and behold. MORE FUCKING DAMAGE. right fender. my sister says she has no idea, and is adamant about her not doing it and having no idea what happened. i don't believe her, but she could have been side swiped while parked on the streets of NYC i guess. people are dicks. heres some pics.

hahaha that side is *HIDDEN*

and god knows what happened to the hood. the front right was in a collision before, and the guy did a really shitty repair. the hood isn't even with the fender on either side, the headlight is still weirdly cracked. and after seeing the new damage on the front right, guess what i found? RUST. and the paint wasn't molded to the body, just to itself, so its flaking off by the damage. i can literally fit a few pieces of paper and slide them under the paint about an inch or two. i showed the pictures to stak =/

and the roof somehow has rust on it? i've never been in a roof end collision... i dunno how the fuck that happened. i'll take a pic later
