P2R Throttle Body Spacer REVIEW!

OK so I got this today, and thought I'd put it on and go for a little spin.

I was only able to test drive on local roads and I didn't get to really push it coz somehow my RD keeps on beeping coz there are cops almost every 5 intersections monitoring speeders. I'll get to test it on the highway tomorrow on my way to work. Anyway, I can definitely feel more acceleration and throttle response. So far I am happy with this inexpensive bolt on HP but I will hold my conclusions till tomorrow when I get to test it on the highway.

For those who are wondering,
1. I did not bypass the coolant - so the improvement I am getting is mainly from the TBS.
2. I just deleted my resonator - so I could not tell you if CAI would have enough clearance.

Hope you enjoyed reading and happy modding!

Ok, my butt dyno revealed a 21.739HP increase.

All kidding aside, I can say that there is a little difference in power. My MID is displaying 2MPG more than my average for the same trip but I can't confirm till I get a decent amount of trips to get the new average.

Do you have to torque the bolts at a specific setting?

I torqued mine at 20lb-ft. I think I read somewhere that the bolts should be torqued at 16.5lb-ft. Not sure though.

i thought a TBS only kept intake air cooler so you wouldnt loose power as the engine air heated up? not gain hp or free up hp?

TBS doesnt have anything to do with heat. Bypassing the coolant through the TB does. The TB adds volume to the plenum.

I most definitely will dude ..... I actually just sent Mark over at Throwdown a PM asking if he could somehow expedite the processing and shipping so I can knock this install out for the community.

i am excited to see your results, this will be some pioneering stuff. Are you having it professionally installed? I could link you to a thread for 1G TSX install, it seemed to be doable but well past my level of expertise

I'm excited as well man..... I'm really not into the DIY stuff, the only reason I did my headlights was just to see if I could. Trust me, if I didn't have the cash to replace the headlights I wouldn't have attempted it at all. I'm going to get TBS and the intake runner installed professionally. I have already talked to the performance shop that I use, everything is in place.

here is a link to an accord i4 install, just for reference sake, i dug around on their forums and people seem to like em alot! after reading there it made me wanna look at the lightweight pulley set too <_<

it is one of the most hilarious installs i have ever read, and it might save your performance shop some time if they never worked on a kz23 before

yo nc, just a correction on something i said earlier, when i was concerned about fabricating custom mounts for spacer+intake it was mainly in regards to the CAI config, its longer and since it sits as 2 more mounts than the SRI does it might be a problem with that config. The SRI might not require any extra headache

^^ Good call i'll assume that if it fits with CAI no problems SRI mode would be alright as well then
