Low End Torque?
whats the best mod for low end torque? my 2008 does feel like it has enough. not trying to spend a lot. i heard comptech's icebox helps a lot for low end.

seriously though, you bought a honda that weighs 3400 lbs with a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine in it...

I would say the UR pulleys (or alternative such as NST) would be your best bet. I noticed a definite improvement in torque across the entire powerband after installing them. It's pretty simple physics.

Like some people said, Pulleys are great and also, lightweight flywheels do about the same thing that pulleys do. Take your pic. I've also heard that a good header/cat combo does the trick as well.

pretty much got it all covered here.
icebox + reflash + pulleys will give you the best tq down low.
light flywheel should also give you an increase in response.
good luck with the mods!

I just installed the K&N drop-in filter and had removed my resonator a while ago. I definitely noticed faster response on my car. It felt awesome... but I'm wondering once the ECU adapts to the increase air-flow will the car's response diminish.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but, you are pulling in cooler/denser air-less restrictive with a CAI. The ecu won't be affected. I've run the K&N Typhoon & now, the CT icebox for over 1 year without so-much as a hiccup from the ecu.

I had the ct icebox and just installed the nst pulley. To me I don't think it makes a big difference. Going to install dc header and t1r test pipe. Hope I could feel the difference after the install.

You should feel a difference when reducing rotational mass. Lighter wheel/tire combo and pulleys ought to do the trick in addition to the icebox, reflash, header replacement.

I'm told short ram intakes provide more torque than CAI's. Personally, I'm going to get a Weapon R Dragon short ram for my 04 tsx. Also, I'm going to go with the UR pulley set and get a high flow cat.
