Acura TSX Door Lock Actuator - start complaining to Acura
I've read many posts about this problem with the door lock actuators going out way too soon, and it just happened to me. I used to have a Grand Cherokee and the locks never gave out, and it had over 100,000 miles on it! My mechanic (TSX 05 out of warranty) told me that the dealer (Southern California) keeps the actuators in-stock, only because they have to replace it so often.
If there is a problem Acura should fix it, or at least find a different manufacturer. I called the customer service number from the Acura site and they said that they don't have enough complaints on file for that particular problem to start an investigation.
So, if you guys want Acura to do something, start calling and bugging them. The more complaints they get, the more likely they're going to do some kind of product update. (recalls are only for safety issues).
And, if you've already gotten it replace, keep the receipt and see how long the actuator lasts. It could be a whole other case if the new part goes out too.

I just saw it, thanks!
But the things about Acura is that people have to call in, they need records.
These threads don't "count" as evidence to them. That's why I started this thread so that those that have this problem need to contact Acura directly and complain.

Maybe suggest owners who are affected with the door lock actuator issue scan their invoices up...like some of us did for our A/C failure. Then email Acura customer care the link.

2005 TSX door-lock actuator failure
I have a 2005 TSX which I purchased in January 2008 with 26k miles. About 3 months after purchasing the passenger front door lock failed. It was always a pain, but I just kept procrasinating getting it repaired. One week ago...the driver front failed also. Now it is just plain annoying and reminds me of my youth having to use keys to open doors....imagine that!
The car now has 42,500k. The warranty was 4 years/50k so I take it into the dealer in Atlanta and ask them to repair both under warranty citing the low mileage. They take a couple of days and talk to Acura. The repair cost for both was quoted as $450. They called back and said Acura will take care of the cost and I pay only $16....not sure why..but I'm not going to complain! Needless to say, I was pleased and so happy I was not going to have to use my mechanical "skills" to try and repair myself.

The basic warranty for my CPO car ran out but Lindsay Acura in Columbus replaced the drivers actuator for free, my advisor fudged the miles so that it appeared under warranty in their records...But I sure hope they will do this as a goodwill fix at every Acura dealer.
