Phone answer delay

I have very very annoying problem with hands-free and my iphone. When I answer incomming call the caller cannot hear me for the first 3-5 seconds, this is very stressful, when on the 3rd HELLO you starting to scream and the caller start to hearing you, and he think that you are screaming at him..lol

and what is up with a very BAD microphone? is there a way to made diller to change it?

Yea that's what happens to me too. I already posted a thread about this but received no help. I don't think this is a phone compatability issue because my phone is listed on the HFL list. Yea it gets really annoying having to wait 3-5 seconds before hearing something over the speaker. But what bogs me is that RARELY, the HFL answers INSTANTLY. I can't figure a fix for this.

Do you know that the stereo volume knob adjusts the volume of the HFL too?

Yup, when in HFL mode, try turning your volume up on the wheel or the knob. Usually above volume level 25, the person on the other end of the HFL starts to hear echoes of themselves and that's annoying, so I usually keep it below 25.

The delay was annoying until I learned to expect it. Now I count to three before speaking and it's fine.

It would be nice to have a better quality speaker. I have had complaints that people can't hear when I'm on anything but a newly paved road. Then again...a couple of bulk packs of Dynamat Xtreme will rectify that.

but why aren't acura fixing it. I had Maxima 07 before and I had no problem with Bluetooth system, mic was so good that people couldn't tell if i'm in the car, and the system understood me even with open windows. I am very upset. I wanted to go level up in the car (from Nissan to Acura) but at the end I have only problems with this car.

IMHO, it's a perception issue. Thankfully I haven't had any issues I'd consider a deal breaker with this car. I like Nissan product, too, but also IMHO, they aren't what they used to be prior to the Renault takeover. I had an 06 Altima SE-R 6MT that was in the shop more than on the road.

Like I told my H/A close friends, now that Honda has timing *chains* MAF's and torque, I'm willing to give them a try.

it started again, This is the stupidest bluetooth system EVER.. I had a maxima before, and did not have one problem with my iphone.

Now the second problem. when dialing from the iphone's list and then when you are trying to switch to a bluetooth, it will not switch for 3 times, and from the 3rd time the guy on the other side is screaming for 2 minutes,... this is soooo frastrating.
I want to use a phonebook from the Navi (so that the call will be on the speaker right away), but it takes a few minutes to get to a phonebook, and then a few seconds to find a person you want to dial. Why don't they have a speed dials?

and the 3rd problem, Microfon... such a bad mic, it will only recognize your voice 50/50 chance, and you sound on the phone like you do speak on a very bad speakerphone.

officially, the WORSE bluetooth EVER!!

Do any of the electronic-ophiles know if there's a high quality replacement microphone we can install in the existing slot?

I wrote a thread on this about a month ago. I couldn't agree more. My Toyota Prius is light years ahead of this horrific bluetooth system. It makes the car so frustrating!

I wrote an e-mail to Acura and got back a response that essentially said, we know about the system and designed it that way. Great.

I use the iPhone and it's annoying as hell to keep having to press "HomeLink" 3 times when I make a call and then waiting the 3 seconds for them to hear me.

What does the "Homelink" button have to do with HFL?

On the iPhone under "Audio sources" you choose either Homelink, iPhone or speaker when you're in a call.

Yup, Honda BT system sucks to no end! My Sienna's BT system is far superior in every way. Why does Honda keep sticking to this outdated system??

I have 3 years lease, and I can't take this for that long. The mic has to be replaced.. the recognition system has to be replaced. (It works 50% of time, other 50% of a times I have to repeat the name of the person 3-5 times. This is make me nuuuuuuts. and this is with closed windows, with open windows it will not work at all)

How about we all start calling Acura support and start demanding "mic" replacement and voice recognitions system fixed?

What do you think about it guys?

Let's start guys. Take 10 minutes out of your time and call them.

call main customer service line for Acura
1-800-382-2238

press 5. For any acura vehicle questions

Tell them that you have a huge problem with Bluetooth System.
1. Mic is working very bad. People hear you very bad.
2. Recognition system works half of the time. (even with your own voice recoreded when dialing)
3. (for iPhone users) The 3-5 seconds delay on incomming calls.

They will open the case for you.

Let's fix that shitty mic already.

Voice Recognition, Answer Delay and HFL Transfers

The Voice Recognition does REALLY suck but the way around it is to record longer names and it gets better. It has problems with similar sounding names like John and Don so you have to lengthen the name - so there is more of a difference between the two then the error percentage should decrease; e.g. John Smith Mobile and Don's Mobile are different enough to get it to "almost" work right.

Also to transfer between HFL and the phone and vice versa just engage the HFL and say "transfer" for me this has always worked well. The delay I think varies by phone. It takes time to sync. My Samsung Bluetooth answered faster than my new iPhone. Bluetooth is power expensive so make sure your battery is over 50% or your phone is on the car charger.
