woah.

that's...

um...

...

different.

I would say that middle pod with the A should go.
with a blank grille it would look more appropriate to me.
but I'm an older guy, I guess this look is kinda too young for me.

this is really not J's quality lol
the grille block should be gone, and if they want the emblem there, they should make a adapter on the mesh.

*edit: i looked at the pics again, and it looks like a man thong in the front!!! wth

I'm 27 and agree with you fully. This bumper would look worlds better with a blank front grille. In fact, isn't that what the conceptual art showed? I preferred that. Euro R grille it is, for me.

what does that look like at a distance to me?

is it an older EVO?
is that it?

or some other Mitsu?

IDK.

there's a good chance this design was made for pure functionality.
like for guys that race and track their cars.
or maybe built to specifically hold space for an intercooler or something.

again, I don't know.

Under no circumstances should a Honda ever look like a Pontiac. I think the above is exactly why I don't like this thing. Lose the grille and it's pretty money looking, however.

yeah, i'm not feeling that at all. the bumper looks like the 07/08 euro-r bumper + lip on steroids, and that thing that's supposed to be the grille.

it would've been better if they just left the grille open like the mugen ones.

The more I look at the 2nd picture, the grille looks like it may be removable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The original concept art Marcus shared with us featured a blank Mugen-esque grille and it looked much more aggressive and less retarded.

First thing I thought of was a Pontiac. Maybe I should get it to match my brother's G8. Without the "schlong holder" it would look better, but it does seem to be a removable grill.

^lol, it's not so bad once you get past the grill (sounds like 2nd Gen talk)

It looks like they tried to do something similar to the Mugen RR grill, but failed.

the mugen RR grille works b/c the lines are harder.

the curves on the J's one kills it.

if the lines were harder line the mugen RR grill I would try and see if you could get the grill adapted to the OEM bumper as that would look sweet. However the RR grill sits back a little bit as well and this one is flush with the hood which is why you get 2nd gen grill and pontiac references.

Marcus, can you ask them if the grille is a separate (and removable) piece?

I dont hate it totally but I think they could refine it before completely releasing it.

The fitment from the J's racing carbon pieces I currently have is top notch. The grill piece above doesnt not seem to be the same top notch fitment. The ends of the top carbon bar appear to almost bubble out some past the bumper. if they would make the top of it sit back in like the bottom does a little from being flush with the bottom of the grill opening it would look much better. Just some thoughts and suggestions for J's since there is a large opposition to the design currently. Not saying they care what anyone thinks although it could eat into there possible sales. Plus not having an option to put a honda grill as well strikes me as a little weird. I can't imagine J's racing abandoning their following in japan completely and only make an Acura bumper.

and they need to make a factory euro-r grille with the A emblem on it!
I'm killing myself trying to pull it off.

there should be like a swap service for badges and such.

A thousand times this. If I could get a Euro-R honeycomb grille with an A on it, I wouldn't even consider re-badging. At present I'm going to badge to Honda in 2009 just because I want that grille so badly. So now instead of a grille, I need a JDM grille, JDM radiator cover, rear Accord Type-S badging (I plan to keep running the USDM lip kit so I can't go Euro-R), JDM Accord door sills and floor mats, and an Accord airbag. So much money..! Although I'm sure Marcus doesn't mind my plans.

peek a boo!

(not photoshopped at all)

also only in it's early stages...

an OEM one would be so much better/easier though...

anyway, threadjack over.

so I kinda feel bad for J's now.
very few people like the look, which is too bad.
the front bumper/look of the car they design is what a lot of
people will judge their products on, just because it's the thing
that's most looked at by most people on the car.

They are looking for more US appeal though. They were even considering getting a 2nd Gen TSX shipped over there for R&D since they don't have the new accord yet.

I like the lower half of the bumper, with the integrated fog lights. Grill could use a bit of revisions before a final prototype.
