Has anyone figured out the audio format of the .PCMs? It's raw audio data, so I don't know what sample rate/bit rate/bandwidth they are at. It would be fun to change some of them.

zax123, I did read where people were unsuccessful burning to DVD9. Did anybody ever try burning to a single layer DVD-R with only a partial set of the data. It seems like the problem is that the drive can't read the copied dual layer disc correctly, but it can read single layer dvd-r.

Whatcha think? They're 96k (98,108 bytes) using RLE compression. Is it ok to use that? Does it need to be close to the original size, or is it cool if it's smaller?
I've got a CG tsx, so i'm using that color

UofMFan,
Nope, noone tried DVD-R single layer because noone could figure out what data needed to be included, and what didn't. Do you really think there's a way to strip only SOME of the map data? That would be awesome. It might be easier to find a slot-loading DVD reader than can actually read DVD-DL... I haven't taken apart the Navi system so I don't know what's in there now...

LOL @ jtow
This is driving me nuts, how come some people aren't having the delay?? Weird stuff...
I'm using the matrix one earlier posted, and that's the same exact size as the OEM Honda JDM one, can't understand why it's lagging for like 5-10 seconds, anyone else experience NO lag at all when they turn on their car like how it originally was?

The system probably has very little RAM and is only keeping a very small amount of data in memory at a time. There is no way the system is doing a hash of the files at startup. It would take forever to get a checksum on files that large. It is possible that it could look for all files matching a certain size, but this could be hacked in the .exe.
If I had to guess how they organize the data, it would be that grouped in files by region and there is probably some index of gps coords into these files. When the system starts up, it gets your the last registered coords and loads some buffer data around your location. So, my guess at a minimum you would need whichever startup files are read into the index and some other data files that store map info, POI info, and most all the sound files. I could be way off base here, just this is how I might design such a sytem.
If anybody from acura is reading these posts and disapproves of these hacks, they might want to know this is likely the incentive I need to purchase the TL over other cars on my list at this point.

I posted these over at the TL forum, I thought maybe you guys would be interested, maybe not... but I thought Iwould post them anyways
they are jpg, so you need to save them as bitmaps... I have no idea if anyone will like them, but if you want I can post the psds as well...
I think someone asked for a Honda logo... maybe over at the TSX forums?

So, open Photoshop, creat a new file that is 480x234 px, paste your image, then save it as an 8 bit BMP. That should be it.

I wouldnt recommend modifying resource data.

Its gotta be in RGB format. 480x234 = 112,320 bytes + 54 byte BMP header + 256*4 pallette header = 113,398 bytes for a 480x234x8 Windows RGB bitmap.

I don't understand, mine is 113,398 (using the Matrix one on the website) and I'm getting the 5-8 sec lag
Bysin, canyou think of why this is happening and why it's not happening to some people, it can't be the file size.
