Any way to make the stock airbox louder...

Is there a way to make the stock airbox louder? I know about grinding out the "ribs" in top half of the box, but is there any better method to make it even louder?

I bought a cheap cone filter today and tried a DIY SRI, took it for a spin and it howls like a beast! Especially from VTEC and beyond. However it looked ghetto as hell so I took it out and returned everything back to normal...but that sound...I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!

Did your hood not close with the filter? I don't know how it would look ghetto if it's hidden.

You could probably remove the air intake that feeds into the filter box to get more noise out of it, but I don't know why anyone that purchased a luxury sedan would want to do that.

dont do a short ram... you'll lose power.
unfortunately, trying to extract all the sound out of the stock air box is going to be limited.

did you take off the airbox resonator?

Already took off the resonator, and I added a little pipe from my old intake that goes into the bumper area for cooler air.

Looks like it, but first I'll probably at least get that Apexi Power intake so I have an actual one rather than a filter with PVC pipe. Since it seems that in the intake shootout the Apexi actually performed and it has a support that's better than 4 zip ties and one metal bendy wire...

Post a WTB thread on the blackmarket for an intake and you may get lucky and strike a deal like I did.

ice box is the best intake for us. hondata did a comparision betwen a sri, cai, icebox and the ice box made smooth power through the power band which is what you want. sometimes noise doesnt mean it makes good power. the icebox is a little louder than stock, you can do the mod to a stock airbox with a k&n filter and remove the piping that goes into th bay just look it up.

Have you gone into the fender well and removed the pipe from the resonator?
