on the second run i didnt floor it from the begining i was kinda sluffing but then i stomped on it and i got more power also i let the engine cool down for like 20 mins the first run was done right after ti got to the shop which was a 20 min drive so i think the cooler engine had somethign to do with it. i dont know how accurate the dyno is but its not inbedded in the floor there was like a lil lift my car went on raised it up and i then drove on to the dyno thats the first time i was ever on a dyno like that...kinda scary cuz if the straps broke i would have hit a concrete wall but it was coo now just need a header and then i will be good i wanna compare the injen intake vs my custom one though anyone in seattle area down to try a swap while my car is on the dyno

only 13.2 hp over base line....i gained 14.6 with just intake and exhaust....hmmmmm i wonder what a DCheader will do with my set up. and the addition of the apex VAFC II once i have a diagram out and a header made for it...maybe another 6 or 7hp...hopefully huh

mkay nother ? for yas when i am racing in the 1/4 when should i shit at 1st gear and etc... i dont just go to the redline everytime right wouldnt i have to look at a dyno and see where the power begins to drop at each gear first of all i sont know how to read one lol sry im a big newbie to these things..thx a bunch

if so, should give another shot by using 94 octane...

i believe so dont know for sure but its rotating mass. Kinda like if you get an after market flywheel you will see better acceration and more power cuz less weight to turn i think its the same concept but dont quote me on it.

time to get some light wheels to boost my ego. j/k
I pulled 175WHP, 154 Torque on my dyno pull last week. I ran it up to 7000RPM, and I think I could've definately squeezed out some more running it up to the fuel cut off.

I have an K&N CAI. I think I could've squeezed maybe 3-5 more WHP out of it going up to fuel cutoff as it was still climbling right up to 7000RPM

Dyno Videos
Here we go.
All Comptech stuff. See sig.
Video Links. Taken with my digital camera, so resolution is not the best, but it works.

93 octane gas with a full bottle of 104+ octane boost in a full tank of gas. 4500 miles on the car.
I am almost at my goal of 225 crank hp.

Sounds good. Did the Comptech headers make a big change? That's my last mod and maybe a better chip other than the cheap E-bay ECU one. The real chips are in the hundreds though .

Technically the higher octane gas you use the less potential power it contains. What higher octane does is allos a more controlled burn to avoid detonation with higher temperatures/compression which is important in a boosted application. A N/A motor has to be tuned to take advantage of the higher octane gas. I'd love to see a run with 91 octane and ee if that affects your numbers.

if the A/F on TSX already rich then lower cctan such 89 may not trigger retar, since rich can also stop the knck, thus greater energy in lower octan may gain a few hp.. TSX has compression ration of 10.5:1, and TL has 11 something...

4th Gear Ratio: 1.028:1
5th Gear Ratio: 0.825:1
6th Gear Ratio: 0.659:1
final drive is
4.700:1
A true Measurement of RHP is 1:1
as most cars dont have a 1:1 ratio it is standard to do a DYNO pull in 4th gear.
As 4th gear is usally the closet to 1:1

Here's how I understand dynos. First off, while a 1:1 ratio is preferable, it not really necessary especially if anyone has used a DYNOPACK vs a DYNOJET, b/c dynojets have a input for what gear you are running in. Also, note that while 5th gear is 1:1, in reality it is like a 4.76 (final drive) x the secondary gear ratio (which should be around 1.2ish) so it not really 1:1. Also, note that while running in a shorter gear (numerically larger) gear raises torque transfered to the ground, 1. spinning the larger gear makes more energy to spin ( relatively minor but also explains why many times swapping a numerically higher final drive does not equal better dyno numbers) and 2. because less time will be spent on the dyno (shorter gear takes less time to go through the whole rev range), the dyno might not be able to get a good read, so I've seen cars dyno less in a shorter gear (a 350z comes to mind).
