Mild mods
I have an 05 tsx with 89k miles w/ comptec cai. I am interested in doing some more mild modifacations this spring performance wise and was considering an underdrive pulley set and throttle body spacer. I am wondering with the pulleys will I have to change all of my belts and to what size? Also any advise on what brands to go with if it even makes a difference on these types of mods. I am on a budget so cost is a factor. I have a second vehicle and do not drive it every day but am trying to get just a little bit more from it. Any other suggestions are welcome also keeping in mind im eventually doing the hondata reflash if I end up keeping the car for another year. Thanks for any input.

Hey is the link to another thread with the info about belt sizes https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-performance-parts-modifications-126/ur-pulley-belts-901920/
I know a lot of people on this forum go with UR pulleys and I have herd good things about them planning on doing that myself along with a reflash. So were in the same boat with the price battle but i would go with UR

This is just my honest opinion, but i would not do different pulleys. It underdrives everything and could wear out other components quicker. There are many other ways to gain power. If you want to get a hondata reflash in the future, i would think your next mod should be a header. That is what gained me the most power for the money.

^there are stock diameter pulleys available.
this means you wont be under driving ANYTHING.
and you will get the benefit of a lighter mass pulley, without damaging other components.
however, the effects are only felt in the lower gears.
the first gen tsx really woke up with Hondata reflash

I have heard mixed reviews about the throttle body spacers, in general it keeps your intake a bit cooler which would ultimately draw in cooler air but in the end you still would not be able to tell the difference in performance.
A really good and cheap mod to keep your intake/throttle body cooler is to do the coolant bypass mod which you can find a DIY somewhere on the forums.
