Dashboard Bubbling

Hey guys,

My 2010 TSX is just over a year old with less than 10k miles on it and I have 2 bubbles on my dashboard. I recently just started to park car outside and with just 6 months of parking outside, I already have two really annoying bubbles on my dash. Is this covered under warranty at all? So sad..

You are awesome. Thank you. I didn't know such a garage existed until I googled.

I had the same problem last year with my 2010 tsx, I had two bubbles on the dash right below the navi screen.

At first the dealer wouldn't work with me and told me it was normal wear and tear. But after I made a couple of calls to acura, they replaced my entire dashboard.

That is exactly where my bubbles are located. Already stopped by the dealership and was told to bring my car back in on Monday so they loan me a car while they fix/inspect my dash.

Damn, now I am torn on what to do LOL It doesn't really bother me too much BUT it should be fixed since it is covered...just one more annoying little thing with my car and I know I won't have my car for at least a few days knowing my dealership, so...

I love my car and mechanically it has been fine so far *knock on wood* but wow, have the issues been annoying! Here is the list off of the top of my head (and I know I am probably forgetting a few things):
  • 6 speakers replaced, and not all went bad at the same time - worth mentioning that because of how many times I had to take the car back.
  • Bad XM module that needed to be replaced.
  • Bad rear brakes - this one was a real burner because all of the $ had to come out of my pocket upfront and in the end, I still had to pay due to the settlement agreement. Yes, brakes go bad and one should expect that, but at barely even 20,000 miles?!?
  • Plastic trim piece along the front driver's seat - the plastic somehow warped around the screw and it popped off on the one side and can't be put back on. The dealership ordered a new one and when I schedule to have my oil changed, it will be replaced then.

And now this with the dash *sigh*. Oh well and like I said earlier, at least it hasn't been anything mechanical yet!

Damn, that's just terrible luck. I don't think I've heard of anyone with as many problems as you. This is the first problem I've had with my TSX.

Actually, my problems are pretty common for an '09 and if you do a search, you will find others with the same issues as well..

...I was just fortunate enough to have every single one LOL

Wow. I got my loaner and they're gonna keep my car for 3-4 days. The loaner I got is a 2010 TSX Tech with an auto tranny and I hate the living crap out of it. I've only driven it 5 miles and it's already driving me crazy. How can anyone stand an automatic transmission? No control whatsoever.

Driving a car like this, I don't see how anyone could desire anything other than an automatic. It is a little 4 banger point A to point B car. Not like its a purist car such as a Porsche or Audi.

I bought a 2010 Acura TSX a few days ago and then noticed two small bubbles just above the radio. I immediately called the dealer and told them about it. They have agreed to replace the dasboard free of charge. The car has 35000 miles on it but i'm not sure if it's covered by the manufacturers warranty or if the Acura dealer is doing it out of goodwill.

The dealer is NOT doing it out of goodwill. The dash replacement is expensive so they'll want to be reimbursed by Acura.

Goodwill is having the dealer vacuum your car and scratching up the interior trim bits.

Just came across this thread today and snapped a picture of my dash. The bubbles on my dash aren't that big. Has a couple smaller bumps on the other side. Dealership took pictures of it today and said they will call me to see what they could do.

I bought my car from carmax and when I went to look at the car I saw this and told them I wouldn't be interested unless they get it replaced. They called me the next day and it was replaced and I bought the car

Hmm so the bubbling happens in both cold (clickit in Chicago) and hot (baozzor in FL) regions.

Here's the dash on my 2010 TSX. The lease is up at the end of this month. Never got around to getting the dash replaced. Started with one slight bump around the center a/c vent. Over the last couple of years it has spread like a skin disease. Hehe...

The one above your temp read out display is almost EXACTLY what mine looks like, and in the same spot too! I had the dealership look at it a few weeks ago when I was getting work done and supposedly they are going to "do something about it." I have to take my car back again for further work (along with some other unexpected work now because, you know, there is something I just discovered that they damaged while doing the other work..UGH ) so we shall see what exactly it is they are going to do about it.

Has anyone found a fix for this or know where you can go to get this repaired without having to replace the entire dash?
