Anyone having problems with "crackling" noise with the audio?

Replace Fakra connectors in the trunk
I have a 2020 RDX and noticed crackling sounds when listing to the radio or taking via Bluetooth. However, the issue is intermittent and I can't figure out why it occurs.
Already to taken to Cleveland dealer, they supposedly fixed the problem but now it's back and they have no idea. Anyone else had this issue?
Please let me know. Thanks.

Root cause of crackling sound
American Honda has a systemic defect in 2019 & 2020 Honda & Acura vehicles in the MOST Bus network.
There have been multiple class action lawsuits filed and settled over this issue.
disconnects and defects in the fiberoptic cables in the MOST Bus network cause intermittent pops in the audio system
and disruptions of the infotainment system.
These occur whether or not the vehicle is started or the audio system is on. They can occur at anytime when a passenger is in the vehicle.
American Honda is fully aware of the root cause and how to remediate it. They do not have sufficient spare
parts to supply all their dealers to fix this.
In my view, troubleshooting this problem is beyond the capability of the dealers.
The MOST bus errors are recorded in the diagnostic logs of the vehicle.
I own a 2020 RDX with advanced package.
I have filed a lawsuit with American Honda under the California lemon law based on their inability to rectify this issue, Court date is May, 2023.

Refer to TSB-10-062
This TSB is attached. These are the diagnostics the dealer should perform to isolate and find the defect in the MOST Bus network.
Note that it mentions the crackling sound.
In my view, this was a manufacturing defect affecting multiple Honda & Acura models.

Burning Brakes
I had some speaker crackling issues with my 2019 and one day I was installing the spare tire and looked at the amp, and one of the connectors was not clicked in all the way. Since I pushed it in and clicked it in I never ever had another single issue, that was 4.5 years ago. Very well could be a loose harness at the amp

[QUOTE=Vince D;16744514]I've never had any crackling issues with Sirius Radio on my 2020 Advance (I don't listen to regular radio AM / FM), but I am starting to hear what I call a "zap" sound - reminding me of one of those hanging LED mosquito zappers - when my iPhone is connected to CarPlay. It only happens every now and then but only lasts a few minutes, then it goes away. Apparently this is a chronic issue with many RDX vehicles.[/QUOTE
Yes it's happened in the past, the dealer replaced some connectors. Right now it's happening again so I'm going back to the dealer.. It's very annoying...

Good day and hello. I had the same crackling noise in my sound system. Took it into the local dealer and after evaluation, it fell under the technical service bulletins below:
- Acura TSB 20-001 — "Center display unit stays on with the ignition turned to OFF and the door open, display switches between the Day Mode and Night Mode, the Drive Mode Not Available message appears, or the disclaimer is stuck on."
- Acura TSB 20-031 — "Popping/crackling from the speakers, blank display, no sound from the audio system, or network loss message."

Glad to see this thread. We have had FAKRA Connectors on order for over a year now. I guess everyone else's dealer is smarter than Shottenkirk in Huntsville Alabama. The Service Dept can't seem to figure out the problem or how to order parts. We have talked to American Honda Motors also and they were no help. Any ideas where to go next? Our entertainment system is very intermittent and the cruise control doesn't work anymore either. Very tiring.

Issues with gauge module
I have taken my 2019 RDX to the dealer over 4xs now with the same issue: crackling, audio going in and out, the screen going black and restarting over and over, getting notifications about: audio not found, beansconverter fail, network connection lost, etc. They have replaced connectors and done system updates however the issue continues. This week they are telling me they believe the issue is a gauge metering module under the dash and warranty doesn’t cover the replacement. Has anyone heard of the crackling and audio issues having to do with the metering gauge module?

Only real issue I have ever had with the audio on the RDX is the handles rattling. I always thought it was the speakers going bad, but I have come to find out, its the damn handles vibrating. If I hold them, the noise goes away. Happens on the driver and passenger side

Instructor
I just had this addressed in my 2020 Advance (55k miles). No opposing or cracking for about two weeks. Oh yea, I got an MDX as a loner, which was pretty nice but I'm glad I got the RDX over the MDX.
In my case, it started about 6 months ago and got annoying about 1 month ago. Tech said they pulled codes that indicated the connectors were the problem. Hopefully, it stays fixed.
